What is cajun spice?

Cajun spice was inspired by the Cajuns which are an ethnic group that is living in Louisiana, U.S.A. Cajun cuisine normally consists of crustaceans, sausages, and meat that are spiced with peppers, onions, celery.

That said, it also has some Creole influence in it and they also use cayenne pepper, bay leaf, parsley, and black pepper. Sometimes they also put some garlic.

I used flank beef strips in here but you can also use sirloin or tenderloin strips if you want. Just slice the beef super thinly so it is quick to cook and tender.

  • 200 g Beef Strips
  • 1 ml Paprika Powder
  • 1 ml Garlic Powder
  • 1 ml Onion Powder
  • 1 ml Cayenne Powder
  • 1 ml White Pepper Powder
  • 1 ml Dried Thyme
  • 1 ml Dried Oregano
  • 0.5 ml Black Pepper
  • 0.5 ml Salt
  • 1 tsp Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients and the beef strips
  • Heat your pan on medium heat and add oil and sautée the beef until cooked
  • Done and serve how you want!
