Ingredients

  • 200 g Wonton Sheets - 200g is usually about 1 pack. Thawed if frozen
  • 200 g Minced Chicken - Normal chicken breast is fine, too. Just mince it with a knife!
  • 5 pcs Tiger Shrimps - Devine, deshelled, and minced
  • 3 cloves Garlic - Minced
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger - Minced
  • 1 pcs Shallot - Chopped
  • 1 pcs Chili - Chopped
  • 1 sprig Spring Onion - Chopped
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Fish Sauce - Optional
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Wine - Optional

Instructions

Mix all ingredients

  • In a large bowl, all ingredients mentioned above except for the wonton wrapper

Make the dumplings

  • Put 1 tsp of filling in the middle of the wonton wrapper
  • Damp the edges with water using your finger or a pastry brush
  • Fold in half and set aside
  • Depending on how you want to shape your dumplings, fill and fold them as you like

Cook the dumplings

  • There are four ways you can cook them
  • Method 1: Boil them in salted water (much like if you're boiling filled pasta like tortellini) and once they float, they are ready
  • Method 2: Steam them in a double boiler for about 5-8 minutes
  • Method 3: Fry them in oil until golden and crispy
  • Method 4: Make them into dumpling soups! Just drop them in your soup and boil for a few minutes. Your soup is ready once the dumplings float!

Notes

This recipe is for three portions if eating as appetizer but if you're going to eat this as a main course, you can get two portions.
